Salma Hayek was born September 2, 1966. Her full name is Salma Hayek Pinault.
She started her acting career in Mexico by performing in Telenovela Teresa and El Callejón de los Milagros. In 1991 Salma Hayek moved to Hollywood and came to prominence with roles in films like as Desperado, Wild Wild West, Dogma and From Dusk till Dawn. Her famous breakthrough role was in the film Frida as Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.
She was nominated Best Actress for an Ariel Award, BAFTA Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Academy Award and Golden Globe Award.
She won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Direction for The Maldonado Miracle. She also received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series Ugly Betty. She also guests appearance on the NBC comedy series 30 Rock.
