Imran Khan was born in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan and studied at Aitchison, Worcester, and later at Keble College, Oxford, England, and United Kingdom. He started playing cricket at an early age.
After graduation from Oxford, Imran Khan joined Pakistan national cricket team in 1976 and played until 1992. He, especially, headed Pakistan to victory at the 1992 Cricket World Cup, Pakistan's first and only wins.
Imran Khan launched a fundraising movement in 1991to establish a cancer hospital in memory of his beloved mother. He raised twenty million dollars from Pakistani people to build the first hospital named as Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Lahore in 1994, and later in 2015 the second hospital in Peshawar.
Imran Khan got retirement in 1992 as one of Pakistan's and world greatest and successful players from cricket. He took three hundred and sixty-two wickets and three thousand eight hundred and seven runs in Test cricket and is one of eight world cricketers to have accomplished an 'All-rounder's Triple' in Test matches.
